Course Description
A hands on opportunity with a wonderful tutor. Feel the clay and make your own koru. Glazes and firing complete your artwork and will be delivered to REAP Marlborough when finished. Date: Saturday, 14th September Time: 10am - 12pm Location: REAP Marlborough (65 Seymour Street, Blenheim) Price: $55- per person Tutor: Renate von Petersdorff [Act Code: Mar 47001] You will need to bring an apron, pointy knife for carving, bring your own design or an idea of what you want to carve, pencil or pen, and small carving tools if you have them. ---- The koru (Te Reo Māori for 'loop' or 'coil') is a spiral shape based on the appearance of a new unfurling silver fern frond. Iin Māori art, carving and tattooing, the koru symbolises new life, growth, strength, and peace.
